The differences in the finishes, polished for the tubulars and brushed steel for the sheet, both of aluminum, increase more the perception of the material used in its pure state (without surface painting) , and, by reflecting light differently, highlight the soft curves of the seat top and the rigidity of the structure supporting it.

Affascinati dalle opere di Frei Otto, pioniere e utopista di coperture costituite da membrane tese con una leggera struttura reticolare, nasce il sistema di sedute “Trompe l’oeil”.
Sintesi perfetta di tecnologia e manualità, tubolari di alluminio che sorreggono la rigida lastra di metallo che ripiegata acquista leggerezza e flessibilità dando origine alla seduta della panca. Il metallo curvato si trasforma in un morbido tessuto, un “drappo” adagiato, mettendo in risalto la tensione del materiale. Definizione pura di tensione materica in grado di alterare la percezione visiva dell’oggetto. Le differenze delle finiture, lucida per i tubolari e spazzolata per la lastra, entrambe di alluminio, aumentano maggiormente la percezione del materiale utilizzato allo stato puro (senza verniciatura superficiale) , e, riflettendo la luce in modo differente, risaltano le morbide curve del piano seduta e la rigidità della struttura che la sorregge.
